Identity and security
KemyShopping verifies identity before releasing or changing information. Send only the minimum proof requested through the approved channel. Sensitive information may be redacted where it belongs to another person or a lawful refusal ground applies.
Fees and response periods
Any request fee, access fee, response period or extension is applied only as allowed by PAIA or POPIA. The requester will receive the required notice before a fee is incurred. A complex or broad request may require clarification.
Possible outcomes
KemyShopping may grant the request, grant it partly, ask for clarification or refuse it on a lawful ground. A refusal or partial refusal will identify the reason and available internal, regulatory or court remedy where required.
PAIA manual and record categories
The PAIA manual describes the business, Information Officer, automatically available records, record categories, request procedure, fees and remedies. Typical categories include company, governance, customer, seller, driver, employee, product, transaction, finance, tax, security, technology, legal and marketing records.
Information Regulator
A person may contact the Information Regulator South Africa if the applicable process does not resolve the matter or the law otherwise allows. The regulator's current forms and PAIA guidance should be used.
