Warranty Policy
A seller or manufacturer warranty is additional to the statutory protection that applies to qualifying consumer goods; it does not replace the CPA implied warranty of quality.
CPA implied warranty
Goods must be reasonably suitable for their ordinary purpose, of good quality, in good working order, free of defects and durable for a reasonable period, taking account of the product and circumstances. Qualifying goods that fail these standards may generally be returned within six months after delivery at the supplier's risk and expense.
Subject to the CPA, the customer chooses repair or replacement, or a refund. If a repair fails in the manner covered by the CPA within three months after that repair, replacement or refund is available as provided by law.
Additional seller, supplier or manufacturer warranties
The product page or included warranty document must identify any additional warranty period, who provides it, what it covers, geographic limits and how to claim. If no longer warranty is stated, customers should rely only on statutory rights and any written warranty supplied with the product.
How to make a warranty claim
- Contact support@kemyshopping.co.za with the order number, product and fault description.
- Explain when the fault began and what troubleshooting was already attempted.
- Provide useful photographs, video, error messages or diagnostic reports.
- Wait for authorised collection, assessment or manufacturer instructions.
- Keep the tracking or handover proof and remove personal data where possible.
Assessment
An assessment may identify the product, confirm the fault and determine whether it arose from an inherent failure, ordinary wear, accident, misuse, an external event or unauthorised alteration. Assessment does not remove the customer's statutory election where the CPA applies.
Phones and high-value electronics
The listing must state whether the device is new, pre-owned or refurbished and disclose material condition, battery-health information where relevant, material repairs, network status, included accessories and the applicable warranty. A device must not be stolen, blacklisted, unlawfully modified or subject to an undisclosed activation lock or finance claim.
KemyShopping may record and compare IMEI or serial details to protect customers and sellers. Customers should back up data, sign out of accounts and remove activation locks before an authorised return.
What may fall outside warranty cover
To the extent permitted by law, cover may not apply where evidence shows the problem was caused after delivery by impact, liquid, misuse, unauthorised repair, incompatible power or accessories, deliberate damage, ignored care instructions or normal wear. A product is not defective merely because a newer or better model later becomes available.
Software, consumables and batteries
Software support, consumables and components that naturally degrade are assessed according to the product description, reasonable durability, usage, written warranty and statutory standards. A disclosed battery-health figure is part of the product description and must be accurate when supplied.
Safety notices and recalls
If KemyShopping or a supplier becomes aware of a material safety issue or recall affecting a sold product, we may contact the customer with instructions to stop use, isolate, return, repair or replace it. Customers must follow reasonable safety instructions promptly.
Unresolved warranty disputes
Ask for the assessment result and internal review through support@kemyshopping.co.za. The customer may provide an independent report and may approach an appropriate ombud, regulator or court without losing statutory rights.
